Modern Mixes is Pinegro’s specialist commercial growing media division, supplying premium custom-blended potting mixes to the wholesale nursery, horticultural and landscaping industries throughout Australia.
As an accredited supplier under the Nursery & Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) standards program, Modern Mixes is committed to delivering high-quality growing media solutions that meet the demands of professional growers.
The business is led by Daniel Gray, Business Development Manager, who is highly regarded within the Victorian nursery industry. Daniel brings almost three decades of professional growing media experience and holds a Diploma of Applied Science (Horticulture) from Burnley. Since joining Pinegro in 2012, Daniel has played a key role in expanding and developing the commercial growing media division, complementing Pinegro’s established retail potting mix business.

Every batch of commercial potting mix undergoes rigorous testing prior to release, including physical and chemical analysis to ensure consistency, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
Our quality assurance program includes dedicated onsite laboratory facilities, comprehensive in-house testing, independent technical support from industry consultant Craig Godham, weekly monitoring and Australian Standards compliant compost production.
Craig works closely with the Modern Mixes team and is available to provide technical expertise, customer support, and onsite consultation when required.
